The Mavis Nye Foundation was created to inspire victims of mesothelioma an asbestos related cancer.

Through its board and members it gives hope to fellow victims and shows that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The Foundation’s objectives are to:

• Offer grants to enable clinical teams to produce new drugs to research possible cures for mesothelioma.
• Raise awareness of mesothelioma and the continued dangers of asbestos exposure
• Support those suffering from the disease along with their family members and those who care for them.

Mavis is the Founder and President of the Mavis Nye Foundation. She is an inspiration for all mesothelioma victims and an advocate for Mesothelioma UK.

Mavis is a patient representative for the following:

• Research at St. Bart`s Hospital
• Cancer Research UK
• East Kent NHS Trust
• NHS (England )
• Cancer Network East NHS

Mavis also sits on the Board for a number of clinical trials.

The Foundation was set up in 2017. Below are some key achievements of the Foundation to date:

• Funding a specialist Mesothelioma UK nurse
• Awarding a grant to support research into mesothelioma
• Raising over £100,000 to support mesothelioma victims
• Supporting patients and families online
