We had been invited to the Isle of Guernsey for the Asbestos and HSE Conference at ASR Ltd Paul Knight.

Paul has really backed the Mavis Nye Foundation and has the Logo on his van.

I was able to meet him and have outr photo taken with the van.

We stayed in the lovely hotel La Collinette which has the history of being taken over by German Soldiers in the occupation in the war.

We had flown over with Paul Leigh from We/Fit RPE Accredited Fit2Fit Face Fit Testing Provider, Basildon Essex.

So we all met up and toured the Island.

We ate a lovely meal in the Hotel Restaurant and went to bed as we knew we had a big day next day.

Ray and I told our story but I was able to be able to talk about the Guernsey and Jersey mesowarriors not having the support of the Governments with a scheme of compensation to help those that like me can not claim.

We are lucky in the UK.

The Diffuse Mesothelioma Payment Scheme

From 1st April 2018, TopMark Claims Management Ltd is the appointed administrator of the Diffuse Mesothelioma Payment Scheme.

This scheme is designed to compensate people with Diffuse Mesothelioma who, either negligently or in breach of statutory duty, were exposed to asbestos by their employers, and who are unable to bring a claim for compensation against that employer or that employer’s Employers’ Liability insurer.

Should a sufferer of mesothelioma pass away, the scheme can also make payments to their eligible dependants.

Please take our Eligibility Questionnaire to verify whether your circumstances meet the scheme’s requirements.

Applicants, or persons acting on their behalf, can complete and submit an application form through this site.

Alternatively, to make an application by post or e-mail, the relevant forms can be downloaded here.

Once a fully completed application has been received, it will be assessed within four weeks. If an application is successful, the subsequent payment will be made within a further two weeks.

Assuming all requisite documentation has been provided at the outset, the entire application process should take six weeks.

I hope I have hit home and something will be done now as there is a Petition Running in both Guernsey and jersey so I have taken the voice of the Patient again to their Governments as I have been heard on their radio station and now in their newspaper
