——–Thurs 6th———–
We had First Visit today from District Nurse. She demonstrated how to do a Pleural Drain.
We were shown this in Guys.
We wont need her again for this , I am confident that I can do this as Mavis doesnt want to do it herself.
Just Call me Doctor.
Tomorrow we are going to surgery to have the stitch removed from the 1st chest drain
Then all being well, we hope to get away for the weekend in the Van, It will give her a break and she will feel back in the real world again. Just as long as she takes it easy.
What I failed to mention earlier is that in Mavis`s first posting it mentioned that it started with a visit to Doctor about what was reported to be a damaged ulma nerve in the arm, and later to both arms where the arms twisted outwards and feeling in the fingers had gone ,making it impossable to hold heavy things like kettle or mugs of coffe etc. She told the neurologist she thought it was all connected with her breathing problem, but he said no its not. But the odd thing is since she has had the op. the arms have almost returned to normal and she can move her fingers again
